Pew Painting

I stumbled across a sale and was able to purchase a barn full of church pews.  Mainly because I had the means to transport them out of there the same day.  I lost one to a guy who strapped it to the top of his truck but I quickly called in reinforcements – “Brutus”.

They must have been in storage for at least 20 years or at least it looked that way with all the bird poop on them.  We unloaded and began pressure washing.

The average home probably can’t accommodate a 10-12 foot pew bench in their house so we decided to cut them up.  (actually this was my plan all along)

The photos below are only one end or middle.  Obviously without the arms.  The arms are being re-attached to make pews with arm rests.

However, winter was quickly approaching,  the kids were starting school and here in Oregon…most importantly…the rain starts.  Therefor this project got postponed until Spring as we placed the pews in winter storage.
